Sixers fans blame Harden, Rivers, Embiid for playoff loss

Nothing stings more than losing handily to venerable opponents in the postseason. Except maybe being forced into a Game 7 when the series could and should have ended with a Game 6 win at home in Philly.

The Sixers’ lopsided loss to Boston on Sunday gave supporters exactly that.

Joe Mazzulla, the coach of the Celtics, had described the conclusion of the Eastern Conference semifinals as a “war.” Despite the 112-88 bloodbath score, it was worse than it appeared. It was awkward.

The Beard, who was once hailed as the Sixers’ savior and who demonstrated his ability by putting on outstanding performances in some of this year’s playoff games, simply did not show up for Game 7. He finished with a massive nine points, having only scored six in the first half.
