QB Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams is out Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Rams announced that quarterback Matthew Stafford will miss Los Angeles’ game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday due to a concussion.

Although Stafford is questionable in Week 10, according to Rams head coach Sean McVay on Friday, the quarterback is “making good progress” and the team is keeping the door open for him to play.

“I completed a good workout. Yesterday, he was working and throwing,” McVay stated on Friday. “He is progressing steadily. All you can ask for is that.

Following a “clean up after the game” in Week 9, Stafford was put into the concussion protocol earlier this week after it was “determined that they felt like that was the best thing for him.”

The Rams have lost their last two games going into Week 10. Stafford has an 84.9 passer rating after throwing for 1,928 yards, eight touchdowns, and eight interceptions in eight games this season. As of Week 10, he had been sacked 28 times this season, which ranked third in the NFL. This Sunday’s match will be Stafford’s first absence of the season.
