Joey Beauchamp, a former winger for West Ham United, passed away sadly at the age of 50.
As a YTS trainee, Beauchamp joined his hometown club Oxford United in 1987. In 1994, he was sold to West Ham for a club record cost of Ł1.2 million.
An English League One statement from Oxford stated, in part, that “everyone at Oxford United is thinking of the family and friends of Joey Beauchamp who has passed away at the age of 50.”

A few months after joining West Ham United, the winger moved to Swindon in order to be nearer to his family.
After making 428 appearances for Oxford United and scoring 80 goals, he returned to Oxford in November 1995. In 2002, a toe injury put an end to his career.
West Ham and Swindon have also shown their respect for the deceased player.
“We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of former Town player, Joey Beauchamp,” Swindon stated.
“The club offered prayers and condolences to the deceased’s family and friends.”
West Ham United also responded to the unfortunate death by tweeting, “Everyone at West Ham United is thinking of Joey Beauchamp’s family and friends.” Joey, rest in peace.
