Birmingham Stallions coach Skip Holtz has been appointed.

WBMA BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham’s newest professional football team has formally revealed the identity of its first head coach. On Thursday, the Birmingham Stallions announced Skip Holtz as their new head coach on social media.

Holtz has been a college football coach for thirty years, having coached at various universities across the nation. Before being let go at the end of the previous season, Holtz had a 64-50 overall record in his tenure as Louisiana Tech’s coach since 2013. In addition, he served as an assistant coach at South Carolina, Notre Dame, and Colorado State. He also held head coaching positions at South Florida, East Carolina, and Connecticut.

Holtz declared, “I’m excited to be coaching in the USFL and I can’t wait to get started.” “With the support we have, there is no better chance to start a new league from the ground up. In addition, I’m ecstatic about the opportunity to construct something in Birmingham—a fantastic city that I know will support the USFL and the Stallions.”
