“One of the top athletes in the nation” Jordan Marshall of Moeller signs with Michigan.

Ending as the anticipated contest between two of the best running backs in their respective states, East Central defeated Moeller 38-28.

With 239 yards from Josh Ringer and 194 from Dylan Maxwell, East Central’s rushers amassed nearly 500 yards during the contest. Senior Jordan Marshall of Moeller scored 107. For the Crusaders, who were now 1-2, it was a humiliating defeat.

Marshall went to the field to congratulate Ringer and take pictures with him as his teammates were returning to the locker room to get ready to leave St. Leon.

A number of people, including members of the media, snapped pictures of them in the hopes of getting two Mr. Football winners in the same picture.

That’s precisely what happened; earlier this month, Marshall Ohio Mr. Football and Ringer Indiana Mr. Football were named.

Marshall’s poise in the face of defeat that evening was noted by East Central head coach Jake Meiners.

“This year, even after a fiercely contested game, he returned to the field to congratulate our players and snap a few photos,” Meiners stated.

In November, East Central emerged victorious in the Indiana 4A state championship. The Trojans finished 15-0, making the Moeller game their closest of the season.
