Eight Michigan football players are ranked in the top 10 for their positions by PFF as of 2023.

Two years is a trend, and one year is an exception. The Michigan football team can now be considered among the best in the country.

Many questioned whether it could be accomplished again after making it to the College Football Playoffs for the first time in 2022. Naturally, many believed that the Ohio State barrier would reappear, especially since the blue and corn had not prevailed in Columbus since 2000. Nevertheless, the Wolverines defeated the Shoe and advanced, paving the way for their second consecutive Big Ten Championship.

There weren’t many Michigan players available heading into the 2022 season, with Hassan Haskins, David Ojabo, and Aidan Hutchinson largely responsible for the team’s success. However, after the Wolverines repeated their performance from a year prior, analysts began to embrace the fact that the team has a wealth of playmakers.

Eight Michigan football players, starting at six different positions, made the PFF’s list of the top 10 players returning at every position in 2023. These are the players PFF is confident will be stars this upcoming season; there are, of course, others who aren’t listed who could emerge, such as tight end Colston Loveland, receivers in general, and any of the incoming transfers.
