Best NHL Bets of the Day: Top Picks (Fade the Maple Leafs at All Costs).

I’ve now successfully placed my wager on yesterday’s Winter Classic, making my NHL 2024 bets 1-0. Let’s move on from 2023 and concentrate on the upcoming year.

I have three locked in bets for tonight’s games, one of which is a fade of my beloved Maple Leafs, who have been an incredibly frustrating team to watch over the past month. The rest of the NHL returns to action today for a loaded slate.

The Washington Capitals would be close to the top of my NHL “fraud” rankings, if I were to create one this week. With a 17-11-6 record, you’d think they were at least a respectable team, but when it comes to analytics, they’re total garbage.

If you look at adjusted 5-on-5 statistics over their last 25 games, they rank 28th in expected goal percentage and 30th in CORSI%, with only the Blackhawks and Sharks ranking lower. In response to your inquiry, the situation does not improve on special teams. Their powerplay unit, which only scores 11.46% of the time they have a man advantage, is the third worst this season.

It’s time to liquidate all of your Capitals investments and place a long-term loss wager on them.
