Top three Islanders players thus far in 2022.
The season for the New York Islanders has surprised everyone. The Islanders are finding it difficult to qualify for the playoffs after making it to the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals in consecutive seasons. Amidst the team’s overall struggles, three players are enjoying an incredible season.
1. Ilya Sorokin
Let’s start with the obvious: Ilya Sorokin has been the Isles’ standout net player the entire season. He makes saves quickly and with accurate angles.
Because Sorokin and Semyon Varlamov did not share the crease equally, Sorokin was able to spend more time in net. The continued opportunities for admission will only benefit him in the long run.
With five shutouts this season, Sorokin is currently tied for second in the NHL in shutout totals with eight throughout his career. This season, he has played 37 games, which is 15 more than he did the previous one.
By working tirelessly every day, Sorokin has already demonstrated that he is an important member of the team. He is a great asset for the future of the Islanders goaltending.
2. Dobson Noah
The beginning of Noah Dobson’s career occurred in December 2021. Since then, Dobson has appeared on the scoreboard several times. After a more “reserved” start to his NHL career, he has blossomed into an offensive-defenseman.
