The Lions’ best and worst PFF grades during their Week 2 loss.

After defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in the first week of play, the Detroit Lions were on a high until they were forced to limp out of a difficult loss to the Seattle Seahawks. It hurts a little more not to have a win to hold onto after the game, especially with a few serious injuries sustained.

With the exception of an expensive pick-six, Jared Goff looked excellent offensively. The Seahawks defense was kept off balance as a result of the ball being spread to several different receivers. There were moments when the run game was problematic due to David Montgomery’s injury.

That was all insignificant compared to the difficult time the defense had due to their injuries and both of their performances. The absence of James Houston and C.J. Gardner-Johnson will be felt right away, but maybe the PFF rankings will highlight some encouraging aspects in a game that could use them.
