Roundtable: Reflecting on the 2021–2022 Raptors season.

Once more, here we go! Just to be clear, the Tampa Bay Raptors did not make it to the postseason the previous season. However, the Toronto Raptors? Not missed a postseason game since 2013! What a season it has been, all in all. The team’s growth unfolded right before our eyes, and it was truly remarkable. It is incredibly satisfying to watch this core mature throughout the season and develop on the fly, especially when you start to consider their potential. But first, let’s recap what our Raptors Republic family thought before moving forward:

This was the constant theme of the dream. The shouting, the pushing, the raunchiness, the deflections, the reckless abandonment for workplace safety standards that are rebounding. Everything that Brad Pitt feared, as well as the chaos that Nick Nurse and Masai Ujiri imagined.

Lucas: Disregarded. The Raptors were a team that no one in France really anticipated making it to the playoffs, much less with the fifth seed. During the season, very few people in France discussed the team. With only a few games remaining in the regular season, I truly felt that a lot of people realized that the Raptors were in fifth place and that players like Siakam or VanVleet were having an incredible season. I think the Raptors’ season is underappreciated because of this.
