Based in Memphis, the Memphis Grizzlies are a basketball team that plays professionally.

Robert Pera is the team’s majority owner. In 1995, the Grizzlies were founded in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 2001, the team moved to Memphis. Among the four major professional leagues, they are the only team that plays in Memphis.

The Memphis Grizzlies were formally approved to be owned by Robert Pera on October 25, 2012. Jason Levien was appointed as the Memphis Grizzlies’ chief executive officer and managing partner on November 4, 2012, by Pera.[16] [17] ESPN revealed on December 13, 2012, that the Grizzlies had appointed John Hollinger as their new Vice President of Basketball Operations.

The Clippers gave the Grizzlies a bad start to the 2012–13 NBA season. After the loss, though, they went on a winning streak and finished second in the season PCT rankings, just behind the New York Knicks. Memphis, on the other hand, earned a higher PCT of.875, as they were the first team to defeat them. The Grizzlies had the league’s best record.
