Preview: USC Trojans vs. Louisville Cardinals.

In the Holiday Bowl, the Cardinals play the Trojans to wrap up the 2023 campaign.

This is Louisville’s first bowl game appearance under head coach Jeff Brohm and third straight. The Cardinals have won two of their last three bowl games and are 12-12-1 all-time during the bowl season.
Louisville is attempting to record its first 11-win season since 2013 and the sixth in school history after going 10-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play during the regular season.
This will be the Cards’ first trip to the Holiday Bowl and the first bowl game in California since a December 19, 1970, 24–24 draw with Long Beach State in the Pasadena Bowl.
This is USC and Louisville’s first-ever football game together.

Despite limiting FSU to just 219 yards of total offense, which included 55 yards through the air, Louisville allowed three field goals from Ryan Fitzgerald and a two-yard touchdown run by 118-yard rusher Lawrance Toafili.
One of the best offensive teams in the nation, the Cards were held to a season-low 188 yards of total offense in the defeat. This is the first time since a 17-10 loss to West Virginia in the 2010 season that they have been held below 200 yards of offense.
