Ranking every player on the NY Jets that has appeared through the bye.

I decided to rank all 59 players who have played at least one snap for the New York Jets through their first nine games of the 2022 regular season, going from worst to best, in order of importance before the team’s bye week. Based on their overall effect on the team, players are ranked.

There’s no reason to waste time. Here are my rankings without further ado.

59. Bryce Hall CB
Snaps in offense: 0 (0%)
5 (1% ) defensive snaps
Snaps for special teams: 0 (0%)
In the season opener against Baltimore, Hall gave up a touchdown in just five snaps and hasn’t been seen since.

Grant Hermanns, OT (58)
Snaps in offense: 0 (0%)
0 (0%) defensive snaps
Snaps for special teams: 7 (3%)

Most likely, you missed him if you blinked. In two games, Hermanns surreptitiously participated in seven snaps for the field goal protection unit. He played twice, winning both times, in Weeks 2 and 4. That’s correct, when Grant Hermanns plays for the Jets, they are unbeaten. He’s a quiet hero who quietly carried out his duties to help New York achieve a flawless record. Retirement from the jersey is not ruled out.

That is, until Hermanns joined Miami’s practice squad and turned to the dark side, retiring from the jersey wasn’t completely out of the question. Jets supporters will never pardon him. Perhaps even more of a betrayal has occurred than when Jamal Adams left the team.
