Saint Louis — In his first year, former St. Louis Cardinals player Matt Holliday was removed from consideration for the BBWAA 2024 Hall of Fame.
Following his initial ballot appearance, Holliday received less than 5% of the votes in the 2024 Baseball Hall of Fame results, which were revealed on Tuesday. For 1%, he got 4 votes.
In order to be elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, candidates must receive 75% of the vote. Less than 5% of the vote disqualifies a candidate from running on the ballot the next year.
