A.J. Brown Plays Down Trade Talk Rumors After Eagles Season Comes to a disappointing end

Six of the final seven games of the Philadelphia Eagles’ season were losses, making for a difficult finish to the campaign. To make matters worse, on wild-card weekend, wide receiver A.J. Brown did not play, and it was evident during the game that the team missed him.

The seasoned wide receiver is still dismissive of the idea, and there is no indication that the Eagles wish to trade Brown. In an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Robin Lundberg, Brown stated that he is not worried about a trade because he has been traded before.

“I’m a veteran now; I’ve been through this before,” Brown remarked. “My phone will ring and I’ll be waiting if something happens; if not, I’ve built up my time.”

On draft night in 2022, Philadelphia acquired Brown through trade and signed the wide receiver to a $100 million, four-year contract extension right away. Brown has since recorded consecutive seasons with at least 1,400 receiving yards and a total of 18 receiving touchdowns.

But Brown notably refused to respond when Lundberg specifically asked if he was getting ready to play for the Eagles in 2024.

He declared, “I’m ready to concentrate on my family at home, get better in the offseason, then just see where this thing goes.”
