Report: The washington commanders star player is been suspended from all sports for a placing bets against….

On January 30, the Washington Commanders received some unsettling news: Ben Johnson will be joining the Detroit Lions again.

Johnson was anticipated to take over as the Commanders’ next head coach due to his exceptional offensive mind. With Bill Belichick and other names in the mix, Washington faces a difficult choice.

Although Belichick has only ever won in the NFL, it makes little to no sense for the Commanders to hire a 71-year-old given their current situation. With the No. 2 pick, it might take a few years for the roster to catch up and become competitive.

According to Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports, the Commanders have reservations about employing Belichick.

However, there have been no signs whatsoever that Josh Harris, the new owner of Commanders, and his search committee—which, naturally, includes Adam Peters, the new general manager—plan to approach either of them. Several team sources have stated Harris is unlikely to move in that path, despite rumors that the committee has talked about Belichick, the former Patriots coach and arguably the best coach in NFL history.

Their worries range from Belichick’s age (71), to whether he would even want to take on what might be a years-long rebuilding task, to if he will work under a general manager who will have personnel control.

It is something that some general managers and owners do not want coaches involved in, but Belichick has long been a part of what the New England Patriots do.

“Johnson is still only 37 years old, therefore he’ll be a strong contender to coach again the following season. He wants to try again, though, to deliver a Lombardi Trophy to Detroit first.

The Seattle Seahawks position was still vacant at the time he informed Washington and the team. On January 31, that all changed when Mike Macdonald was hired as the Seahawks’ head coach.

The Commanders now have much more competition in their coaching quest since Johnson has decided to return to Detroit. They will almost definitely select a quarterback with the second overall pick, so having a capable offensive coordinator on staff is essential.

Mike Vrabel was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans in 2023; one of the coaching mysteries is why he hasn’t found another position.

Vrabel hasn’t had many interviews in addition to not having found a position yet.

Vacchiano updated the Washington Commanders on the latest developments about Vrabel.

One NFC personnel executive described it as “a real mystery” and “ridiculous” that the 48-year-old Vrabel hasn’t even received a whiff from the Commanders, at least not yet. He recently concluded a six-year tenure in Tennessee that was largely fruitful, going 54-45, with four winning seasons, three postseason trips, and leading the Titans to
