ESPN REPORT: Tragically, two player for Atlanta Braves has been suspended after being charged with…

The Atlanta Braves have been a busy team since the start of the offseason in November since they have added a lot of new players through trades and free agency. Thus, let’s review the Braves additions you should be aware of during this stage of the offseason as the calendar turns to February and Spring Training draws near. Additionally, let’s start the year by speculating about each person’s possible effect in 2024.

Sale, a seven-time All-Star who was acquired from the Boston Red Sox in late December for Vaughn Grissom and cash, has been arguably the Braves’ biggest offseason addition to this point via trade. After posting a 4.30 ERA and 125:29 K/BB ratio over 102.2 IP the previous season, the seasoned left-hander is probably going to be a part of Atlanta’s starting rotation right away.

Acquired in early December via trade with the Seattle Mariners as part of a multi-player transaction that sent Cole Phillips and Jackson Kowar west, Kelenic joined Atlanta alongside Marco Gonzales and Evan White, both of whom are no longer with the team. After an impressive season with a slash line of.253/.327/.419, 49 RBI, 13 SB, and 11 HR, the 24-year-old will probably start in left field for Atlanta come Spring Training.

Lopez, who Atlanta inked to a multi-year contract back in mid-November, is probably the biggest free agent the Braves have signed to date. After pitching for three different teams in 2023 with a 3.27 ERA and an 83:34 K/BB ratio, the 30-year-old right-hander will either start the 2024 season in the Braves rotation or bullpen. His performance in the spring will determine where he ends up.
