Kevin Austin, a former defender for Bristol Rovers and Swansea, sadly passed away at the age of 45.
On Friday night, Austin, who played 150 games for the Swans, ended his fight against pancreatic cancer.
“The Swans have been in touch with Kevin’s family, who wished to convey that the club always had a special place in his heart,” a statement from Swansea City said.
“They wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and support, but have requested that their privacy is respected at this sad time.”
Before moving to Lincoln in 1996, Austin played for Leyton Orient for more than 100 games.
In addition to enjoying stints at Barnsley, Brentford, Cambridge, Chesterfield, Darlington, and Boston, he made nearly 150 appearances for the Imps.
