A rematch of the NFC Championship Game from the previous season is one of the most important games in Week 13 of the 2023 NFL schedule. On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers will play at Lincoln Financial Field.

With tackle Trent Williams and receiver Deebo Samuel returning from injury, the 8-3 49ers have emerged from their October slump and have won three straight games.

The Seattle Seahawks were soundly defeated on Thanksgiving, marking the most recent of those triumphs. Before the half, Christian McCaffrey had amassed 114 rushing yards and two touchdowns. It was an incredible first half for him. The Niners’ two-game lead over the Seahawks in the NFC West was bolstered by their 31-13 victory on the road.

After escaping what may have been the best game of the season thus far—a 37-34 overtime victory at home against the Buffalo Bills—the 10-1 Eagles have won five straight. The victory, which came in overtime as the defending NFC champions overcame a 10-point halftime deficit, marked Philly’s most recent successful flirtation with disaster.

Throughout the season, the Eagles have tread carefully. They have trailed at the half in each of their last four victories, and they are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the league-high seven comeback victories.

As December approaches, Philadelphia leads the race for the NFC’s top seed by two games. Even with the best record in the NFL, the Eagles aren’t the team at the top of the futures board when you look at each one.

San Francisco is currently the betting favorite at +400, while Philadelphia has the third-shortest odds to win the championship this season at +475. The result of this week’s game will surely have an impact on the board’s appearance the following week, and it may even determine which of these two teams will host a prospective playoff rematch the following month.
