Recruiting for Indiana basketball: 2024 4-star guard expresses interest in the Hoosiers.

Jaeden Mustaf, a 4-star guard that will be playing his junior and senior season at Carmel Christian School in North Carolina, had a conversation about his interest in Indiana basketball and recruiting moving forward.

Mustaf had quite a busy summer with recruiting, along with leading his New World AAU team to the second best record in the Adidas 3SSB Circuit and winning the 17u title as he was named the tournament MVP.

Currently, it appears that Maryland and Indiana are the two standouts out of the 16 schools that have offered the 6-foot-5 guard, even though Indiana basketball is one of the other 15 schools that have done so. Jamie Kaiser Jr., Mustaf’s AAU teammate, committed to Maryland on August 7 and listed the Hoosiers among his top three choices. Mustaf is ranked as the 13th best shooting guard and the 55th best player in the 2024 class by 247Sports.

The one benefit and relationship Indiana basketball has with Mustaf is that Victor Oladipo, one of Bloomington’s most successful players in college and the NBA, attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland, where the four-star guard played both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Yes, the Hoosier program was in a different stage when that occurred—more than ten years ago. Nevertheless, as Mustaf narrows his list in the upcoming months, it is important to remember that there is a connection.
