Milwaukee, Wisconsin With the finalization of a two-year, $34 million deal with former Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins on Friday, the Brewers added a big bat to cover the greatest void on their roster. The deal includes a mutual option for 2026 and an opt-out following the first season.
Hoskins, who tore his left ACL during Spring Training and missed the entire previous season, will be going on a redemption tour. Hoskins was a beloved player in Philadelphia. A fantastic run of play was cut short by the injury; from the time of his August 2017 Major League debut until the end of 2022, Hoskins was among the National League leaders in walks (fifth, 388), home runs (fourth, 148), RBIs (fourth, 405), extra-base hits (fourth, 304), and total bases (seventh,8, 149) and doubles (1,195).
