ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Blues won 4-3 against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday, their biggest win of the season at 5 games in a row thanks to a goal from Brayden Schenn 1:04 into overtime.

For St. Louis, which has let up at least four goals in each of its previous four games against Los Angeles, Jordan Kyrou scored a goal and provided two assists. Nick Leddy and Pavel Buchnevich both added goals, and Joel Hofer made 30 saves.

After Buchnevich intercepted a pass from Phillip Danault, Schenn was set up to score his 13th goal by beating David Rittich.

In overtime, Schenn stated, “You just take off whenever you see a turnover.” “You just have to make room for him if he is going to carry it up, regardless of whether he gets you the puck or not. He saw clearly, and he came across me.

The Blues have prevailed 4-3 in their last four games.

As we’ve been on the right side, we’ll take them, defenseman Colton Parayko stated. Our team played a great game. I guess we improved during the game just by virtue of traveling and returning to the field. I felt that we did a fantastic job of gradually improving our game as it progressed.

LA lost for the fourth straight game despite goals from Danault, Adrian Kempe, and Jaret Anderson-Dolan. Rittich stopped 28 times.

Following a 20-7-4 start to the season, the Kings have dropped their past 16 games, 2-8-6.

Todd McLellan, the coach of the Kings, stated, “I think we played a pretty solid game.” We made a terrible line change and got burned. That is cleanable. If you remove that and reduce the penalties, I believe we could have won, but we chose not to do that.

With 1:16 left in the second period, Danault scored his 10th goal, elevating a slap shot past Hofer to knot the score at three.

At 12:07 of the second, Kyrou scored his 14th goal, giving the Blues a 3-2 lead, after a feed from Scott Perunovich that went past Rittich. With the assist on the play, Robert Thomas now has seven assists in his past five games.

“It’s fantastic that we’re managing to prevail,” Kyrou exclaimed. It’s more of an attitude than anything else. As a team, we’re playing incredibly well. We constantly have each other’s backs. On the ice, we’re playing together. That develops character, and in the last few games, we’ve showed a lot of resilience.

After Anderson-Dolan scored his first goal of the season at 5:39 into the second, Buchnevich leveled the game at 2 with his 17th goal on a power play in only 55 seconds.

St. Louis’ power play was 1 for 6.

Forward Trevor Moore of the Kings stated, “Way too many penalties.” “It begins with me in the attacking zone—that’s plain foolish. Guys are eliminated from the game because we took a ton of other ones. Even though we had a decent game tonight, it wasn’t enough, and we couldn’t keep making mistakes like taking so many penalties.

A quarter of the way into the first half, Leddy tied the score with his third goal of the season. This season, St. Louis is 11-3-1 when a defenseman scores.

At 4:06 into the match, Kempe scored his 17th goal thanks to an assist from Anze Kopitar.

In the third, Perunovich left the game due to a lower-body ailment.
