The Toronto Maple Leafs, a hockey team, announced today that they had extended the contract of forward William Nylander by eight years. The contract has an average yearly value of $11.5 million.
After 37 games this season with the Maple Leafs, Nylander has 54 points (21 goals, 33 assists), good for sixth place among NHL scorers. With 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) in 17 games to begin the 2023–24 season, the 27-year-old set a new team record for the longest point run to begin a season.
