NFL Draft prospects who best suit Michigan’s quarterback and running back prospects.

NFL teams are beginning to get a better idea of which prospects will be on their draft boards following last week’s Senior Bowl festivities. It should come as no surprise that Michigan will have a ton of prospects drawing interest over the next few months following a stellar 2023 campaign.

Both running back Blake Corum and quarterback J.J. McCarthy had excellent seasons and possess intriguing skill sets that will make them valuable players at the next level. As a result, numerous teams may compete for their services, but certain landing sites will be superior to others.

We’ll examine a few NFL teams today to see how McCarthy and Corum might fit in, as well as teams that could be considering both players.

The Minnesota Vikings currently possess the eleventh pick in the draft. Kirk Cousins is an experienced quarterback who has been with the Vikings since 2018. He has been successful for the most part, but this past season he tore his Achilles and he will soon be eligible for free agency, so it might be time for the team to let him go.

Given the current roster and especially the offensive capabilities of the team, McCarthy might be a better fit in Minnesota. Any rookie quarterback facing guys like T.J. Hockenson and Justin Jefferson could succeed with their passes. McCarthy might hone his backup abilities for a season or two even if Cousins is reinstated on a temporary basis.
