“LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION” The Barnsley F.C. star player fears the worst as life threatening injury.

Max Bird gave the Rams the lead in the 54th minute at Pride Park Stadium after a rather unremarkable first half. However, Aaron Pierre’s goal three minutes from the end forced a split of the spoils.

Now, Shrewsbury Town has lost four of its previous five games in all competitions, drawing one, and losing five, including a 1-0 FA Cup loss to Wrexham on January 7.

Now that they have played 31 League One games, Paul Hurst’s team has lost 17 of them while winning 10 and drawing 4 to amass 34 points. They are currently ranked 19th in the standings, level with Reading and just three points above the drop zone.

Now that Shrewsbury is back at home, they will face their home crowd, who have lost six straight games in all competitions since the beginning of December, with the exception of a 3-1 win over Fleetwood Town on New Year’s Day.

The Shrews will be hoping to break their current losing streak and escape the relegation zone, but their performance against Barnsley in their past four meetings has been dismal. They have given up eight goals and scored just once since a 3-1 triumph in October 2018.

On the other side, Barnsley secured a 2-1 success over Leyton Orient at Oakwell Stadium on Saturday, earning three crucial points in their pursuit of automatic promotion.

Ruel Sotiriou gave the visitors an early lead with a goal within the first ten minutes, but Adam Phillips leveled the score in the 88th minute and finished the comeback in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Before that, on January 27, Neill Collins’s team lost 2-1 to Exeter, ending their nine-game winning streak. Five days later, at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, the team managed to hold out for a 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers.

The Tykes have played 30 games and accrued 56 points. They are currently tied for fourth place in the League One standings with Peterborough United, and four points outside of the automatic promotion spots.

Barnsley’s great season has been made possible by their strong play at both sides of the field. They now have the second-best attack in the division with 54 goals scored, while their 34 goals conceded rank them sixth in the league.
