Jets make a quarterback switch, removing Tim Boyle and adding Brett Rypien.

At quarterback, the New York Jets have taken a snap.

No, not with Zach Wilson or Aaron Rodgers.

However, the team released Tim Boyle on Tuesday after he started the last two games.

Brett Rypien, a quarterback from the Seattle Seahawks practice squad, was also signed by the Jets.

The decision was made while Jets coach Robert Saleh considers his options for the starting lineup for Sunday’s matchup with the Houston Texans.

Saleh stated on Monday that he would select the quarterback who would start the practice week at quarterback one by Wednesday.

Wilson was reportedly “reluctant” to take on the starting role once more, according to a report from The Athletic that Saleh rejected on Monday.

“The boy is after the ball. During his press conference, Saleh stated of Wilson, “He wants to start.” He considers himself to be this team’s and the room’s best quarterback. And the one who offers us the greatest chance of success.
