The Denver Broncos were not able to make the playoffs, even though that was always the plan. Russell Wilson was acquired by the squad via a trade, however his performance has fallen short of expectations. Chiotti is reiterating what quarterback Drew Brees said regarding Wilson’s performance in Payton’s offense. Anyone watching the team play could see that the timing was completely off.
Wilson seemed to be out of step, which contributed to the team’s extreme lackluster performance. Wilson has a track record of success, but he might not fit into Coach Payton’s offense.
“Russell deserves praise for his actions and performance, but it’s time for him to move on. It’s more brisk, as Drew mentioned. As a quick offense, it’s primarily about getting the ball out. The issue is that even while a quarterback has a track record of success, not every offense will benefit from their presence. Wilson’s style did not mesh well with Payton’s offense, but Brees’ did.
Although Wilson will probably start somewhere else, the Broncos plan to select a new signal caller in the draft. They might try to acquire that guy by trading up. In summary, Wilson has left the Broncos, and we now know why.
