Report: The Ohio State Football star player is been suspended from all sports for placing a bet against…

Rejecting the former Ohio University tight end, Will Kacmarek was the first player to pledge to the Ohio State football school via the transfer site. Instead of a name that left them wondering, “Who?”, they were looking for one that would create a stir. Despite being the least well-known of this OSU transfer class, he provides the Buckeye offense with a valuable addition: a skilled blocker at tight end.

Many Buckeye supporters, I’m sure, are shocked to hear that Cade Stover was really a mediocre blocker at best. Technical proficiency and a willingness to get physical are prerequisites for being a successful blocker. While Stover performed the physical component flawlessly, his technique was not consistent. Both are qualities that Kacmarek, who claims to enjoy blocking, possesses, and that will greatly benefit OSU’s run game.

Ryan Day may have found Kacmarek particularly appealing because of his blocking, but he is definitely not a one-dimensional character. During his two seasons with the Bobcats, he caught 42 passes for nearly 500 yards, demonstrating his skill as a receiver. Observe him closely and you’ll notice that he can catch a ball with his long arms and deft hands. He is athletic and demonstrates a range of catching abilities. The St. Louis junior feels at ease lined up in the slot, close to the line of scrimmage, or even spread wide. He can be a headache for linebackers and safeties to match up against at 6’6″.

Alright, let us tackle the elephant in the room—Power 4. When Kacmarek regularly plays against stronger opponents than he did in the MAC, will he be as effective? I will answer in the affirmative because Kacmarek would not be a Buckeye if Ryan Day and his team didn’t think he could step up to a higher level of competition. He was only a two-star defensive lineman out of high school, thus he is a late bloomer. I believe he will continue to grow in the role and has a high ceiling, especially with Chip Kelly joining the team.

Next up: Three participants Ohio State might steal through the link from UCAL.
For playing time, he’ll face off against extremely gifted Jelani Thurman and seasoned Gee Scott, Jr. Even though Kacmarek might not start, the Ohio State football team will benefit from his blocking skills overall.
