ESPN REPORT: Another key Player Commits to Birmingham Stallions
The Birmingham Stallions have had an impressive run in the past 2 seasons with winning 2 championships and only having 3 losses in a 24 game span. The Stallions this season get to assert their dominance on some new opponents with the XFL and USFL are now merged into the UFL. But before we get to that, they have to cut down from their 75 man roster to 50. Today, before training camp starts, we’ll do some projecting to see what the roster might look like by the end of camp. Remember that this is just my opinion and players that I have as cuts could end up being great players in the league, this is mostly a way to look at where their roster shapes up going into camp. Let’s jump into it.
One of the biggest splash additions this offseason was Birmingham adding former 3rd Round Matt Corral. Him and the other offseason addition in rookie Adrian Martinez make for some of the best candidates to replace USFL 2023 MVP Alex McGough who is now on the Packers. J’Mar Smith makes for a great low ceiling high floor 3rd QB in the room where he can still compete for the starting job as he’s played well for Birmingham and knows the system dating back to his La. Tech days but doesn’t have the upside of the other 2. The odd man out is Jalen Morton who spent the 2023 season as the backup to McGough but he gets pushed out after 2 high profile additions.

A trend that will keep popping up with this Stallions team is insane depth causing some tough cuts. These skill position groups have that with fan favorite Bo Scarbrough on the outside looking in alongside some other notable names in FB Bobby Holly and former Battlehawk WR Gary Jennings. Those guys being out shows how good these rooms are. At running back they bring back Marable and Person Jr and add former 6th round pick Larry Roundtree, at receiver they have 6 of the 7 receivers that were on an NFL squad in 2023 including former 3rd round pick Amari Rodgers, and at tight end they bring back 2 spring football tight ends that played well enough to get NFL opportunities in All-USFL TE Jace Sternberger and Jordan Thomas. This group like many others are insanely stacked for Bham.
