With 26 points from Trae Young, the Hawks hand the Lakers another double-digit loss, 138-122.

ATLANTA (AP) — After playing in Houston just a day before, Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks anticipated that the Los Angeles Lakers would be a little worn out.

They therefore started off strong and gave LeBron James and the Lakers their second straight double-digit loss.

With 26 points, including six 3-pointers in a row, Young helped the Hawks defeat Los Angeles 138-122 on Tuesday.

Young remarked, “We knew we had to get up and run, play in transition, and play fast because we knew they played last night.” “We anticipated that they would become weary as the game progressed. They acted in that manner.

The Hawks took command of the game early in the second half, scoring three baskets in a row to increase their lead to 17 points and force the Lakers to take a quick timeout.

It was ineffective. In a game between teams that have reportedly been in talks ahead of next week’s trade deadline, Atlanta increased their lead to 20 points, and the Lakers never got any closer than 10 the rest of the way.

After losing 135-119 to Houston on Monday, the Lakers, who were without Anthony Davis, dropped back below.500 at 24-25. Before a standing-room only crowd, Austin Reaves scored 28 points and James added 20 in a lackluster performance.

James declared, “We could beat any team in the NBA on any given night.” “However, any NBA team can kick us in the butt on any given night.” What is our track record? Less than.500? You’re all set.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Dejounte Murray, who finished with 24 points for the Hawks, made three consecutive mid-range jumpers to put an end to any thoughts of a Lakers comeback.

Despite the Hawks’ winning streak of two games, they are currently seven games below.500, and the guard has been mentioned as someone who might be moved.

For the Hawks, Jalen Johnson contributed 19 points, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Saddiq Bey each had 18. Atlanta finished with a 52% shooting percentage on 101 attempts, 16 of 38 makes from beyond the arc, and seven players with double-figure scoring.

Young remarked, “We were making shots.” “You don’t always have to make shots to stay in the game, establish a rhythm, and feel good about yourself. But on evenings like this one, when you take shots, that emotion is unachievable.

The Lakers reported that Davis was sidelined for his third game of the season due to problems with his left hip and Achilles tendon. Starting in his place, Jaxson Hayes finished with six points and six rebounds.

Compared to Davis’ output, which consists of an average of 24.9 points and 12.1 rebounds per game, that was a far cry.

Davis was also missed by the Lakers on defense.

James advised increased communication during the possession because there would inevitably be some slippage. “A.D. serves as our third line of defense when he is in the field. There needs to be continuous communication even when he’s not around.”

Regarding whether the 39-year-old James would perform on consecutive nights, there were also doubts. However, he completed his warm-up exercises and was named in the starting lineup.

James stated, “When I’m well enough to play, I just try to play at a high level, support my teammates as they do amazing things on the floor, and try to be productive.” “Whether I win, lose, or draw, I’ll be happy with my strategy.”
