What should we think of Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer’s first staff?

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama: As spring practice draws near, Kalen DeBoer can feel the excitement building. This week, the “Fourth Quarter” conditioning program—a program mainstay—has been placed under the new Alabama coach’s supervision. During a Tuesday radio interview with Greg McElroy and Cole Cubelic, DeBoer discussed the team’s renewed enthusiasm as they prepare for the 2024 season.

It was incredible, according to DeBoer, “just being in the indoor and going through our ‘Fourth Quarter’ workout on Monday.” That’s what brought this culture to this point and made it what it is. They have a small grudge against each other.

DeBoer’s influence on the program is becoming more apparent, beginning with his initial coaching staff, which is presumably complete, even though some aspects of the Nick Saban era still exist. After more than a month of work and a few unexpected turns, including the Monday night departure of the linebackers coach, it looks that all ten positions for on-field assistants have been filled:
