Wing for freshmen A major rotation player, Scotty Middleton, will not be with the Buckeyes because of a rule infraction. He won’t be playing for the team against the Nittany Lions; his future status is unknown.
As one of the eight players who average at least 16 minutes per game, Middleton is seventh on the team in scoring (4.7 points per game). His 6-7, 190-pound frame makes him a valuable member of Ohio State’s defense since it allows him to guard several positions and switch on screens.
Chris Holtmann, the men’s basketball coach at Ohio State, said of Middleton on Friday, “He’s done some good things on both ends.” “Shot the ball well and given us a lift on defense as well.”

He was doubtful because of an ankle injury, but he participated in the team’s Nov. 29 victory over Central Michigan. On Monday, the team lost to Michigan. Depending on the lineups the Buckeyes utilize, his absence should mean greater playing time for players like Devin Royal, Dale Bonner, and starter Evan Mahaffey.
