DENVER (AP) — With 2:51 left, Tyler Bertuzzi scored three goals, including the game-winning goal on a power play, as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Colorado Avalanche 4-3 to win their seventh straight.
Bertuzzi beat Alexandar Georgiev after receiving a feed from William Nylander to earn his third career hat trick. After Mikko Rantanen sent the puck out of play and was given a delay penalty, he scored.
In the final seconds, Nathan MacKinnon had an opportunity to level the score, but Ilya Samsonov, who finished with 26 saves, stopped his attempt right before the buzzer.
Mitchell Marner contributed both a goal and a helper. Mikko Rantanen, Andrew Cogliano, and Artturi Lehkonen all had objectives for Colorado.
