STARKVILLE — The first look at Mississippi State football under head coach Jeff Lebby comes as March draws near. The start of spring practice is a crucial time for the Bulldogs as they prepare for their first season under the direction of the former offensive coordinator of Oklahoma.
After finishing with a disappointing 5-7 record, Mississippi State missed out on a bowl game for the first time since 2009.
Ten games into the season, first-year coach Zach Arnett was fired; Greg Knox took over as interim coach until Lebby was hired. The new first-year coach’s early results are encouraging, as MSU secured the 28th-best signing class in the country for 2024, based on the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Mississippi State also added the 37th-best portal class in the country to aid in overcoming a variety of departures due to transfers or exhausted eligibility.
