FEB 29 TUNSIL OPERATIONS According to an article from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Houston Texans offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil had surgery to treat a knee injury he sustained during the season.

According to Rapoport, Tunsil is anticipated to recover “quickly.”

Entering his sixth season with the Texans, Tunsil signed a three-year agreement in March after participating in 14 regular season games and both postseason games for Houston.

HAYNES SIGNED FEB. 21 The Houston Texans are getting ready for what promises to be a thrilling springtime offseason.

Houston will have plenty of room to maneuver going forward, as they presently have more than $54 million in cap space.

But the Texans have already begun to make moves ahead of the start of the free agency period; they signed defensive end Marcus Hayes to an undisclosed contract.

Entering his second NFL season, Haynes most recently practiced with the Denver Broncos and saw no action during the regular season.

16 FEB AMBER AND C.J. Over the past season, C.J. Stroud has emerged as a huge NFL player, taking the Texans from the bottom of the league to the AFC South championship.

In fact, it appears that he has gotten so famous that he has been navigating the celebrity dating scene.

Most recently, musician, model, and influencer Amber Rose—best known for her relationship with Kanye West—was spotted exiting the Travis Scott Celebrity Softball Game with him.

The two entered Stroud’s vehicle and departed Minute Maid Park together.

AD GOES YARD on February 15 Adrian Peterson, a future Hall of Fame running back, appears to be a multitasking machine.

Peterson launched a home run to left field on Thursday night at Minute Maid Park during the Travis Scott Celebrity Softball game.

With 184 career games played, Peterson averaged 4.6 yards per carry while rushing for 14,918 yards and 120 touchdowns, making him one of the greatest NFL players of all time.

STROUD MAKES PICK ON FEB. 11 The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will square off in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday night, with both teams hoping to win the Lombardi Trophy.

Although quarterback for the Houston Texans C.J. Stroud will not be playing in the game, he has been actively participating in Super Bowl week events. He most recently made an appearance on LB Micha Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys’ podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons.

Stroud chose Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs for the big game during his appearance on the show.

“I’m going to the Chiefs,” Stroud declared. Unable to oppose Mahomes. He and Travis Kelce have a rhythm going on, and once you find your groove, it’s difficult to break.”

O’BRIEN TO BC ON FEB. 9 The school announced that former Texans head coach Bill O’Brien has been appointed as the new head coach of Boston College, following a three-week tenure as the offensive coordinator for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

O’Brien was hired after serving as the offensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide for two seasons and the New England Patriots for one season.

“When we embarked on this search, we prioritized finding a coach who believes in our mission and vision, who has a plan for greatness on and off the field, and who will work tirelessly to elevate BC Football,” the president of Boston College, Blake James, said in a statement.

O’Brien replaces Jeff Hafley, who departed to take a job as the Green Bay Packers’ defensive coordinator.

21 JAN Kelly Finds New Residence Tim Kelly, the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans this season, previously with the Houston Texans, has found a place to call home.

The New York Giants have reportedly hired Kelly to be their new tight ends coach.

Following Mike Vrabel’s dismissal from the Titans, Kelly was released to pursue other opportunities.

Kelly most recently worked as the offensive coordinator for the Texans in 2021, serving as Bill O’Brien’s assistant in 2019 and 2020. Kelly was under David Culley in 2021.

Kelly was the team’s offensive quality control coach from 2014 to 2016 and the tight ends coach in 2017 and 2018, prior to taking over as the offensive coordinator.

ADDING ON JAN 6. Against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night, the Houston Texans got off to a fast start in the first quarter when C.J. Stroud connected Nico Collins for a 75-yard touchdown on their opening offensive play.

The Texans have now increased their advantage to two scores after Andrew Beck was hit by C.J. Stroud for a brief touchdown. This was Beck’s first-ever touchdown reception in his playing career.
