Cincinnati Bengals Flips Elite Seminole’s 2025 Defensive Edge.
Javion Hilson, an Alabama four-star edge rusher, has transferred to Cocoa, Fla., to play for Florida State. Just moments ago, Hilson took to social media via HayesFawcett to announce his decision to go to the Seminoles.
Hilson had been leaning toward FSU for most of the 2023 calendar year until deciding to pledge to the Crimson Tide in December.
Hilson said, “I’m really thinking that I could see myself here,” during a trip to Tallahassee in the spring. Playing here for three to four years, getting to know everyone. In a 4-2-5 defensive scheme, I think I can fit in the best. On the defensive line, I can basically play anywhere—5-tech, 3-tech, anyplace. I simply enjoy this place’s defensive tactics.
A few months after making his pledge to the ‘Tide, the 6-foot-3.5, 225-pound player was enticed back into the class by FSU.
Over thirty programs, including Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Ohio State, and numerous more prestigious universities, offered Hilson scholarships.
Hilson is ranked No. 4 among edge rushers and No. 46 overall in the 2025 recruiting class by 247Sports.
Hilson recorded 94 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two pass deflections in his junior year at Cocoa.

It’s nice to have spring. The scouting group at 247Sports has altered its rankings once more after completely revamping the Top247 for the class of 2025 back in late November.
This time, the changes are made before of the spring assessment session.
Although there aren’t many significant changes in our updated Top247, there are ten new five-star prospects and around two dozen newcomers.

The first part of the offseason camp and combine circuit, along with the conclusion of the crucial junior seasons, have been driving the changes.
