Report: The Boston Red Sox star player is been suspended from all sports for a placing bets against…

In an effort to create a contender that can survive for a long time, the Boston Red Sox have been rebuilding their farm system from the ground up during the past few years.

By doing this, the team amassed a large roster of position players and seemed to have a pattern: middle infielders. Except for Ceddanne Rafaela, who is projected to play center field but is capable of playing almost anywhere, ten of the Red Sox’s top 30 prospects are currently listed at either shortstop or second base.

According to reports, one of those players won’t be wearing a uniform in 2024 because of some grave accusations.

“Red Sox prospect Brainer Bonaci has been suspended for the season for a violation of the minor league domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy, according to an industry source,” Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reported Wednesday. “Bonaci had been placed on the restricted list in October, resulting in his departure from the Arizona Fall League.”

According to MLB Pipeline, the 21-year-old is ranked as the Red Sox’s No. 12 prospect. The cause of his absence from the previous season has been discovered.

In 79 games between High-A Salem and Double-A Portland last season, Bonaci hit.297 with 30 extra-base hits, including 11 home runs, 45 RBIs, and a.818 OPS.

Given the loaded position group, it was going to be challenging to find Bonaci a way to Boston, but his talent alone probably would have been sufficient to either find him a spot or move him somewhere he could have flourished.

He will now miss the entire 2024 season due to injury, seriously jeopardizing his career with the team.
