LOUISVILLE, KY: The Atlantic Coast Conference’s Saturday games marked the end of the regular season, and with it, the official bracket for the men’s basketball tournament in the league.
With an 8-23 overall record and a 3-17 conference record, Louisville has secured the No. 15 seed in the ACC Tournament. They will take on 10th-seeded NC State in their first postseason match. The ACC Network will host the tip-off on Tuesday, March 12 at roughly 4:30 p.m. EST.
Louisville’s six-game losing streak began on January 13 when they lost 89-83 to NC State in their only meeting of the season. Despite having five players with double-digit scoring, the Cardinals let the Wolfpack shoot 48.4% from the field.
Under head coach Kenny Payne, the team’s second year has been nothing short of a massive disaster. For the first time in program history, Louisville not only finished dead last in the ACC rankings for the second straight year, but they also achieved back-to-back 20-loss seasons.
Louisville has participated in the ACC Tournament on opening day for three times since joining the league in the 2014–15 season; the team has done so the previous two seasons as well. In the ACC Tournament, the Cardinals are only 3-7 and have not gone past the quarterfinals.
Tuesday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. EST is when the ACC Tournament is set to start (MATCHUP). The ACC Network will broadcast the first round, while ESPN and ESPN2 will broadcast the second round, quarterfinals, and semifinals. ESPN will air the ACC Championship on Saturday, March 16 at 8:30 p.m. EST.
