If it’s possible to say so, Matthew McConaughey’s passion for the Texas Longhorns grew even more during the team’s stunning upset over No. 3 Alabama.
For ESPN’s alternate broadcast of Alabama vs. Texas, the Hollywood celebrity and Minister of Culture at UT Austin was joined by Pat McAfee, Darius Butler, and A.J. Hawk.
Thankfully for fans, McConaughey was holding a microphone when Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers hit Xavier Worthy with a bomb to give the Longhorns a 10-3 lead during his color commentary throughout the game.
Along with other hilarious histrionics, McConaughey joyfully celebrated with McAfee and company, making sure to throw the “Hook ‘Em” signal into the camera.
Hook ’em, baby! Was that right there, was that money, was that money? Live, in-front, high definition touchdown horns. ‘Hook ’em baby,’ McConaughey exclaimed.
