“I AM EAGER TO LAND” Formal Brisbane Broncos Star Announced His Return As Brisbane Broncos Key Player Departed.
Reece Walsh, a fullback with the Broncos, is supposedly close to signing a lucrative new contract that will keep him in Red Hill for the long run.
The good news for Broncos fans is that Brisbane is “very, very close to announcing” the agreement, according to seasoned journalist Phil Rothfield on NRL 360.
After playing for the New Zealand Warriors for the previous two seasons, Walsh had a fantastic debut season back with the Broncos in 2023.

A lot of people are unaware that the Broncos had $450,000 in cap space when they acquired him back from the Warriors, according to Rothfield.
“He consented to it since it was important to him to remain in Brisbane, where his daughter resides.
His valuation hasn’t increased from $450,000 to $1,000,000, but he is now a millionaire player. The good news for the Broncos is that a long-term contract is almost certain to be announced.
If Walsh decides to remain with the Broncos, it will be the culmination of the team’s intense retention push over the last 12 months, which also saw the signing of long-term agreements by Payne Haas, Pat Carrigan, and Ezra Mam.
Adam Reynolds, a halfback, has also committed to the team, signing a one-year contract that will last through the conclusion of the 2025 campaign.
STAR’S 15-MAN CODE SWITCH LOOMS, ROOSTERS FUME
The Roosters are apparently furious with rugby union and have thrown down a serious gauntlet to Angus Crichton, who is yet to confirm his switch to the 15-man code.
According to reports, Crichton will continue to practice his trade in France after losing Joey Manu to French rugby and Joseph Suaalii to Rugby Australia.
Trent Robinson reportedly challenged Crichton to prove he was deserving of a starting berth by leaving him out of the Roosters’ Las Vegas starting lineup, according to WWOS.
The 28-year-old played in just 13 appearances for the Tricolours last season due to injury and off-field problems.
Crichton has participated in 11 Origins for NSW, five Tests for the Kangaroos, and 34 tries for the Rabbitohs and Roosters in 154 NRL games.
According to reports, he will make about $675,000 this season, but since his present contract expires at the end of the 2024 campaign, it is unlikely that he will be re-signed.
Last season, Crichton was connected to a $800,000, two-year contract with Rugby Australia and The Western Force, but the agreement fell through.
WOLVES REFUSED GOULD’S LUKI CLAIM
Bulldogs chief Phil Gould said that back rower Heilum Luki had exercised his one-year player option to remain in North Queensland until the end of the 2025 season. However, Cowboys general manager of football Michael Luck refuted this report.
The assertion was made by Gould on his podcast, “Six Tackles with Gus,” on Wednesday. He said that the Cowboys “didn’t think it was going to happen” and that “Luki took up his option to stay.”
The Cowboys “had to make some decisions there regarding salary caps,” Gould said.
“I kind of expected Heilum Luki to turn down a hefty contract to play for the Dolphins or Dragons abroad.
“He chose to continue with the club after being given the choice to do so. They didn’t anticipate that happening, in my opinion.
Kulikefu Fine feuiaki is an exceptional young talent who is likely on a much lesser contract than he can receive elsewhere, therefore maintaining him will be extremely difficult as a result.
“They would have needed to upgrade him in order to retain him, but they lacked the necessary funds, especially after Heilum Luki exercised his right to remain.”
