Katie Meier, a Miami coach, announces her retirement.

Katie Meier led the Miami women’s basketball team for 19 seasons before announcing her retirement from coaching on Thursday.

Between 2005 and 24, Meier, 56, led the Hurricanes to ten NCAA Tournament berths, won 362 games, and recorded eleven seasons with 20 wins or more.

Meier, whose contract had four years left on it, will stay on as an ambassador for the athletic department and a special adviser to the university.
