ESPN REPORT: Details on Peter Lawwell suspension.

The chairman’s remarks in the team’s interim report on Friday did not impress the former Parkhead striker.

Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn were the only signings made by Lawwell, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the slow January transfer window and said that this was “never the intention”.

Sutton, though, believes Lawwell’s speech lacked sufficient information because he maintained that Celtic exposed themselves to criticism and that collective responsibility was the only thing taken on regarding the transfer issue.

“Although collective responsibility was assumed, nothing changed; the key question is, why were these errors made? Who has the blame?

“If funds were available, there’s a culpability somewhere and, although they’ll never actually say, that’s the point and it leaves Celtic wide open to criticism and speculation.”

“The Board shares the frustrations of the supporters regarding the less than anticipated activity in the recent transfer window,” Lawwell had stated in the club’s interim report.

“The Board pledged to bolster and enhance the playing roster throughout each transfer window, and while we had the resources at our disposal, we were unable to bolster the roster any more since the targeted players were not available.
