ESPN REPORT: The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Head Coach is Being Fired Due to…

The Bulldogs hired Phil Gould, one of rugby league’s most brilliant thinkers, to lead a radical makeover because they realized something needed to change in 2021.

However, following one of the largest transformations the NRL has ever seen, there’s a feeling that, after 32 months in Belmore, the ailing club is finally ready to start producing.

With Raymond Faitala-Mariner’s departure to the Dragons, the club’s 2021 team that Gould adopted is completely rebuilt to rank in the top 30.

The Bulldogs’ starting lineup for the 2021 season included Sione Katoa, Kyle Flanagan, Corey Allan, and Jake Averillo.

Many fans were sad to see Averillo leave the Dolphins after the conclusion of the 2023 season because he was a fan favorite.

Allan and Katoa, meanwhile, each appeared in less than 30 games for the Bulldogs, while Flanagan scored 50 before Gould decided he was no longer needed.

Ciraldo has a totally different spine at his disposal going into the 2024 season, and he may actually know what it takes to win.

With just a few games under his belt, Blake Taaffe—the least experienced of the four players—made an appearance in the 2021 grand final against the Panthers and more than held his own.
