In the coming days, players from one of the most unlikely quartets in college basketball history will compete for a national title. Even though some of the team’s stars are no longer with them, the majority of the sports world did anticipate UConn to be back at this level a year after winning a national championship. However, history also works against Donovan Clingan, Stephon Castle, and Tristen Newton: no one has won a national championship back-to-back in 17 years, and the previous five didn’t even make it past the first weekend.
