Four years after leaving Celtic to join Leicester City at the end of his first stint, the club confirmed on Monday that Brendan Rodgers has rejoined as manager.
Before departing to take over at Leicester in 2019, Rodgers won seven domestic titles with the team during his first season at Celtic Park, including back-to-back trebles and an undefeated season.

“Celtic Football Club is delighted to announce that Brendan Rodgers has been appointed the club’s new Football Manager on a three-year contract,” the club said in a statement.
“Brendan previously managed the club to phenomenal success, winning consecutive domestic Trebles and in addition delivering the most famous of Invincible seasons.”
The 50-year-old had a great tenure at Leicester, helping them win the FA Cup in 2021 and two Premier League fifth-place finishes. But ever since his dismissal in April—followed by Leicester’s relegation on the last day of the season—he has remained unemployed.
Following Ange Postecoglou’s departure earlier this month to assume the role of head coach at Tottenham, Celtic has been looking for a new manager.
“I am really delighted to return to Celtic and I am hugely excited by this great opportunity,” Rodgers stated. “My family and I made an easy decision to rejoin the club when we were granted the opportunity to do so.
“We have enjoyed some great times at Celtic before and this will be my goal again, to deliver good football, ensure we have a team we all love to watch and ultimately bring more success to our fans.”
