On Friday night, the San Francisco Giants formally declared that nine coaches had secured their positions on the coaching staff of their new manager, Bob Melvin. Although Melvin still needs to fill two prominent positions on the staff—pitching coach and catching coach—the majority of his search to assemble a team appears to be over. Most of them revealed were employees of the team in 2022 under former manager Gabe Kapler. But two of the new hires have collaborated with Melvin while he was a member of the Oakland Athletics and San Diego Padres.
