Ross Lyon is fined and suspended, due to his o….

Ross Lyon, the coach of FREMANTLE, has said that “the bump is dead.”

The former Fitzroy hard man feels it’s a good thing, calling football “barbaric” during his playing career.

Speaking on Saturday at the SCG before of Nat Fyfe’s contentious two-week punishment against Sydney, Lyon declared he no longer wanted his players to bump.

To be honest, Lyon stated, “We would prefer not to bump because we think there’s still some grey area.”

“I believe the bump to be dead. You are going to be in a lot of trouble if you don’t hit it just below the shoulders.

We all understand that the head is sacred. If you decide to bump, you need practice a lot since once you strike someone high, things go wrong.

Lyon expressed his support for the crackdown on bumping as a means of preventing major injuries.

“We offer our support. “We all understand the purpose and rationale behind the rule,” he remarked.

“We want to see all the youngsters in Auskick play. You would be delighted if your son participated in the game. It’s an excellent game.

The legal system was so lax. It was really hazardous and violent. Ultimately, you have to adjust and adjust as needed, but looking back, that was a little bit barbarous, wasn’t it?

David Mundy did not do much during this morning’s training at Fremantle Oval, but he is expected to play after suffering a concussion.

Lyon stated that Fyfe was sore from training a lot during his suspension, but both he and Chris Mayne (ankle) will play once fitness tests are completed.

While Fyfe was instructed to pick up a ball, twirl about, and snap toward goal before repeating telling Lyon, “I’m fine,” Mayne was instructed to bounce around cones repeatedly.

The team hasn’t fully ruled out Michael Walters playing in the finals despite his scheduled surgery on an ankle ligament today.

“Let’s assume he won’t play again this year, and it’s a bonus if he does,” Lyon remarked.

With 46 goals last season, Walters was the team’s top goal scorer. Lyon expressed confidence that the group could adjust to Walters’ absence.

“We have Josh Simpson, Hayden Crozier, and Mayne returning and being available,” he stated.

“We have a goalkicker spread and have ranked the top three in terms of goalkicker spread.” That’s the reason you strive for it—you don’t have to follow their game plan if you lose important players.

“It’s about sharing the load, and there are a lot of young guys in the area who are eager for opportunities,”

Despite the fact that the Swans, last season’s preliminary opponent, were only 1-3 after the first month of play, Lyon remained cautious about them.

We don’t have any delusions. He declared, “There’s no walkover here.”

“It’s very challenging, they play at home, and there is a lot of media attention.” They’ll be motivated, and we anticipate a fierce contest.

“We’re not playing flawless football at all. We’re still trying to find that consistency of effort and performance that we’re after because we’ve had some good performances and some not so good ones.
