Carlos Mendoza, the New York Mets’ new manager, was formally introduced on Tuesday. Mendoza, 43, takes over in the Mets dugout from the outgoing Buck Showalter after serving as the crosstown Yankees’ bench coach for the previous four seasons. Mendoza skippered several levels of the Yankees’ farm system more than ten years ago, despite never having managed at the major league level.
