The search for the next head coach of the Carolina Panthers is over. Dave Canales, the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Bucs in the past who oversaw the 2023 rise of quarterback Baker Mayfield, the target of criticism, was named head coach of the Panthers on Thursday night. The 42-year-old playcaller replaces Frank Reich, who was sacked 11 games into his career in Carolina after being hired less than a year ago. Reich is the ninth head coach in franchise history, excluding interim leaders.
