Orlando — The Orlando Magic didn’t suddenly find themselves in the postseason and with one of the best prospects in the league. When Orlando selected Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs with their first-round picks in 2021 and appointed Jamahl Mosley as head coach, the groundwork for the team was established. Despite the hardships that came with losing 60 games, Mosley mentioned on JJ Redick’s podcast “The Old Man and the Three” that the work and conviction that a young squad was working toward something remained unwavering, even though the Magic only won 22 games in the 2021–2022 season.
